Meet D’Jalenta

D’Jalenta Valme is the founder and creative director and Lead Planner of D’Jalenta’s Event Collective, where her lifelong connection to hospitality meets thoughtful, design-led celebration. Raised in Princeton, New Jersey, she was introduced early to the rhythm of service and the art of making people feel genuinely cared for. At just 15 years old, she began working in hospitality, an experience that quickly grew into a calling rather than simply a job.

Over the years, D’Jalenta built a career leading within luxury hospitality environments, developing a reputation for calm leadership, operational excellence, and an intuitive understanding of guest experience. These foundations continue to shape her work today, particularly her ability to anticipate needs, guide decision-making with clarity, and bring ease to moments that can often feel overwhelming for clients.

Event planning became deeply personal when she planned her own wedding, where she discovered a true appreciation for the emotional side of the process. Not just how events look, but how they feel. That experience refined her perspective and reinforced the importance of intention, pacing, and thoughtful storytelling within every celebration.

Now based in Fishtown, D’Jalenta lives with her husband and their cat, Midnight. She draws inspiration from travel, interiors, and the quiet beauty of well-hosted moments.
